Artist Profile

I am a visual artist located in the largest arts district in the nation, Sawyer Yards Silver Street Studios Suite 218, in the East Downtown Cultural District of Houston, Texas. I specialize in large acrylic and mixed-media collage paintings using upcycled materials. My art is displayed in a wide range of styles: abstract, figurative-abstract, impressionism, realism, modern, and contemporary. I have shown in multiple exhibitions: solo, group, juried, and collaborative, throughout the State of Texas. I accepted an invitation to represent the City of Houston in an international art show in Reno, Nevada, in 2024. I was recently published in “Entangled,” “A WiVLA Collaboration Project of Artists and Writers.” Creating is always wonderful, but it’s exhilarating when I witness collectors make solid connections with my art.

Artist Statement

My art inspiration comes from the beauty and kindness I see in the world around me, with my biggest inspiration emerging from my family and my collectors; because of them, I have the great honor of being in this profession.

As a published visual artist and the owner of Arts a Daisy Gallery LLC in the East Downtown Cultural District, the largest art district in the nation, located in Houston, Texas, I specialize in large acrylic paintings and mixed media collage using repurposed, upcycled materials. The collage medium allows me to attempt to be a solution to our throwaway society while showing beauty can come from the most unlikely places. My art is displayed in a wide range of artistic styles: abstract, figurative-abstract, impressionism, realism, modern, and contemporary. My color and composition choices reflect my vivid and passionate imagination transformed into art.

Last year was an extremely busy year in the most wonderful way, filled with juried shows, exhibitions, publications, collaborations, and also participation as an invited artist to represent The City of Houston at the 2024 Reno Tahoe International Art Show, a highlight of the year.

In 2024, I was invited to showcase my art in a solo exhibition at The Houston Club, a prestigious invited membership club. I also participated in a collaboration with published literary artist Gabrielle Langley, and I painted “On Pointe,” a painting in response to Gabrielle Langley’s poem “My Father Makes Me Dance On Pointe, Marie Taglioni- 1822”. My painting is published in a table book.

I have hit the ground running in 2025. I am the scheduled demo artist for The Northwest Art League in February, I have several exhibitions currently showing, and another invite to The Reno Tahoe International Art Show 2025.

No one knows what the future holds, but I see myself strengthening my abilities, growing in creativity, and passing joy through my paintings on to others. I will continue to create until I am unable to do so. I hope to keep providing inspiration to others through my art and that all of my art pieces find new places to hang where they can continue to provide happiness long after I’m gone.
